Biography

Jacob was born in 1727.
Jacob immigrated to Philadelphia August 18, 1733. Later moved to Lancaster County, PA. In 1767, purchased land in Maryland; in 1782 purchased land in Virginia; in May 7, 1786, purchased land in Virginia. Was a farmer and member of Church of the Brethren. Moved to Fredrick Co. MD in 1767; moved to Franklin Co., VA in 1782. (WFT, Vol. 1, #696)
Unsourced trees have Jacob's christening as 1 May 1748 in Lancaster, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Research Notes

Jacob appears to have been born in the Duchy of Württemberg. This is marked uncertain as the borders at the time were changing rapidly. More research is needed.
